A man allegedly pointed a rifle at people outside an Exposition Park barber shop Friday, then retreated into an apartment when police responded, sparking an hours-long standoff that ended when officers entered the residence and found the suspect gone.

Officers went to the 3000 block of South Flower Street, just west of the Harbor (110) Freeway, about 9:45 a.m. Friday on a report that a suspect had pointed a gun at someone and barricaded himself at the location, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Several streets were closed and trains on the nearby Metro E (Expo) Line stopped operating in the area as a SWAT team arrived.

Around mid-afternoon, police made their way into the second-story apartment above the businesses and determined the suspect had fled.

According to reports from the scene, a shotgun was recovered.

No injuries were reported.
