One person is dead and a suspect is in the hospital after an early morning encounter in Irvine.
The incident happened around 2:15 a.m. on Whistling Swan near Wetstone, according to an Irvine Police Department post on social media.
Then, around 3:25 a.m., an officer came in contact with a possible suspect at West Yale Loop and Stone Creek South and shot the suspect, police said.
Additional details, including the suspect’s condition, were not immediately available from police.
