A man in his 40s was fatally stabbed with a machete in downtown Los Angeles near Skid Row and an investigation of the stabbing is underway Friday.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to Maple Avenue and Sixth Street at 11:10 p.m. Thursday when they learned the victim was involved in an argument with a suspect. At some point, the suspect drew a machete and stabbed the victim, an LAPD spokeswoman told City News Service.
The suspect ran away west on Sixth.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel.
