Firefighters battled a brush fire in the 4900 block of East La Calandria Way Sunday, keeping it to about one acre.
The fire was reported around 7 p.m. Sunday southeast of El Sereno Park, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Margaret Stewart.
The public was advised to avoid the area while water-dropping helicopters were deployed.
Around 7:45 p.m., firefighters had contained the blaze with the support of Air Operations, and were continuing to get a wet line around the perimeter, Stewart said.
The back yard of one of the four threatened homes sustained minor damage to a patio cover, she said.
No injuries or structural damages were reported, she said.
The cause of the blaze was not immediately known.
