A Silver Alert was issued Thursday for a 71-year-old man last seen in Santa Monica.

Harold Rappleyea was last seen around 6 p.m. July 24 near Olympic Drive and Fourth Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Rappleyea was described as a 6-foot-2-inch tall man weighing 200 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Rappleyea was urged to contact 911. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or visit lacrimestoppers.org.

The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the suspicious or disappearance of elderly, developmentally disabled, or cognitively impaired individuals.
