Authorities Saturday are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was killed after being struck by a vehicle in South Whittier.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol responded to Marquardt Avenue and Imperial Highway at 10:24 p.m. Friday where they learned the pedestrian had been struck on Imperial by a Toyota Tacoma, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the collision.
