A brush fire that has burned 30 acres in the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area in Irwindale was 60% contained Monday evening.
Two alarms were issued on Monday at 3:29 p.m. and 4:13 p.m., estimating the initial 10-acre fire’s potential to double, said Capt. Easton of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Crews had stopped the forward progress at 5:25 p.m. after the fire burning just south of Foothill (210) Freeway had tripled in size.
No structures were under threat, Easton said.
