A man shot to death in East Los Angeles was publicly identified Saturday.

Joseph Buenrostro was 33 years old and died from a “gunshot wound of the torso,” according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The case was confirmed a homicide.

The shooting was reported at 9:29 p.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of South Fetterly Avenue between Telegraph Road and East Olympic Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Buenrostro was pronounced dead at the scene.
