Southland residents already dealing with a long and dangerous heat wave felt a little shaking Saturday, as two minor earthquakes occurred near Ontario.
A magnitude-3.9 earthquake struck at 10:34 a.m., centered about 4.4 miles southeast of Ontario and 4.7 miles northwest of Jurupa Valley in Riverside County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
It was preceded by a magnitude-3.5 quake at 10:05 a.m. that was centered 4.3 miles southeast of Ontario, according to the USGS.
No damage was reported.
