Firefighters put out flames that fully engulfed a single-story house in North Hollywood Saturday and kept them from spreading to an adjacent automotive repair firm.

The fire was reported at 7:03 p.m. Saturday in a vacant and boarded-up house at 6743 Irvine Ave., east of Lankershim Boulevard and south of West Vanowen Street, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

Firefighters put out the flames in under 20 minutes and kept the fire from spreading to the adjacent combination one-and-two-story building, Humphrey said.

No injuries were reported, he said. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
