A motorcycle rider was killed when he struck the side of an SUV in the Van Nuys area of Los Angeles, authorities said Monday.
The crash occurred at 11:12 p.m. Sunday on Sherman Way at Ranchito Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The SUV and the motorcycle were moving in the same direction when the SUV driver made a U-turn and was struck by the motorcycle, police said.
Video from the scene posted on social media showed a firefighter performing CPR on the man who police said was pronounced dead at the scene. The front of the motorcycle was mangled and the driver’s side door of the SUV was heavily damaged.
The collision was under investigation.
