Yet another brush fire erupted in the Southland Wednesday as flames scarred roughly 50 acres in the Palmdale area, but crews were able to get a quick handle on the blaze.
The Joshua Fire broke out shortly after 2:50 p.m. near Mount Emma Road and 47th Street, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
It was unclear what may have sparked the brush fire.
County firefighters were joined by Angeles National Forest fire crews at the scene, and incident commanders set up structure protection for a mobile home park that was in the path of the fire, but as of late afternoon, no structural damage or injuries were reported.
It was unclear if any evacuations were ordered.
The fire went to a second alarm as more ground and air resources were dispatched to the scene.
By about 4 p.m., crews on the scene were reporting good progress in slowing the forward progress of the blaze, and some air resources were released from the fire.
