A 9-month-old boy, allegedly abducted by his father overnight, was found unharmed Wednesday and the suspect was arrested a couple of hours afterward, authorities said.
According to the California Highway Patrol, which issued an Amber Alert on behalf of the Huntington Park Police Department, Jaydan Avalos was taken by 18-year-old David Avalos, whose last known location was Normandie Avenue and West 228th St., in West Carson.
Huntington Park police Cmdr. Ken Rulon told City News Service that the boy was found by authorities about 6 a.m. in the city of Los Angeles, and the suspect — who is the boy’s father — was found in Los Angeles and arrested a couple of hours afterward.
David Avalos was booked on suspicion of kidnapping and on three felony warrants, Rulon said. He was being held on $225,000 bail, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. A motive for the crime was not immediately known.
