Another brush fire that erupted in the Southland is 0% contained Thursday and has burned about 30 acres near Mount Emma Road in Palmdale.

The Joshua Fire broke out shortly after 2:50 p.m. Tuesday near Mount Emma Road and 47th Street, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

It was unclear what may have sparked the brush fire.

County firefighters were joined by Angeles National Forest fire crews at the scene, and incident commanders set up structure protection for a mobile home park that was in the path of the fire, but as of late afternoon, no structural damage or injuries were reported.

About 20 residences were evacuated briefly due to the fire, but that evacuation order was quickly lifted as crews surrounded the fire, according to the sheriff’s department.

The fire went to a second alarm as more ground and air resources were dispatched to the scene.

By about 4 p.m., crews on the scene were reporting good progress in slowing the forward progress of the blaze, and some air resources were released from the fire.
