A 51-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting his sister in Riverside, the Riverside Police Department announced Sunday.
Police received a call regarding a shooting at around 5:05 p.m. Wednesday in the 6900 block of Jurupa Avenue, near the Riverside Municipal Airport.
Officers located a woman inside her vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, and she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The Riverside County coroner’s office identified the victim as Adrienne Johnson, 45, of Riverside.
Investigators said Johnson was entering her vehicle after work when the suspect pulled his car behind her, exited his vehicle and shot his sister numerous times. The shooter fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.
David Johnson, 51, was apprehended in Riverside on Friday morning. He was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside, and held without bail.
The motive for the shooting was not clear.
