Police sought the public’s help Tuesday to find the hit-and-run driver responsible for severely injuring a 63-year-old woman in the Sherman Oaks area.
The crash occurred on Sept. 6 around 5:54 p.m. when a black Hyundai sedan traveling westbound on Ventura Boulevard made a left turn onto Costello Avenue and struck a pedestrian crossing in a marked crosswalk, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The vehicle was last seen southbound on Costello Avenue and heading westbound on Davana Terrace. Police said the driver never stopped to help the woman.
Paramedics took her to a hospital with severe injuries.
“Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves,” the police department said in a statement.
