A man was killed in a hit-and-run crash Saturday on the Arroyo Seco Parkway near Highland Park.
California Highway Patrol officers were called at approximately 1:28 a.m. Saturday to the southbound parkway near the Avenue 43 exit, where officers found the victim lying in one of the lanes, CHP Officer Sean Lough told City News Service.
“Preliminary investigation determined the collision was a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian and an unknown vehicle,” CHP Officer M. Reyes Lopez said. “As a result of the collision, the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased on scene.”
A SigAlert closing the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes of the southbound highway at 2:10 a.m., and was canceled at 4:41 a.m.
