Police recovered a handgun during a “high risk” traffic stop in Long Beach, authorities said Sunday.
Officers conducted the traffic stop after being dispatched at about 6 p.m. Saturday to the 700 block of East Sixth Street regarding “a person pointing a gun” call, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
“During their investigation, officers recovered a firearm and determined the suspect to be a prohibited possessor,” according to a police statement.
The suspect was arrested and transported to the Long Beach Jail for booking.
