A man was arrested after police recovered an unserialized firearm, or “ghost gun” during a police pursuit, authorities said Thursday.
Long Beach Police Department officers were patrolling in the area of 14th Street and Del Rey Court around 1:46 a.m. Wednesday when they observed a group of people blocking an alleyway. When they attempted to approach the group, a man within the group tried to run away and tossed away an object, the police department said.
After a brief foot pursuit, officers detained the man and during the course of their investigation, they found what they believe was the object the man threw away, which was the gun, police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
