A homeless man was struck and fatally injured while walking along Rosecrans Avenue in the Harbor Gateway area of Los Angeles.
The crash occurred at 9:29 p.m. Sunday at Rosecrans Avenue and Figueroa Street, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
The 40-year-old man was walking westbound on Rosecrans Avenue when he was struck by the westbound motorist, the officer said.
The injured pedestrian was rushed by ambulance to a hospital where he died, the officer said.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police, he said.
