A 35-year-old man was charged Tuesday with stabbing a man and boy as they resisted an attempted robbery of a scooter in Anaheim.
Emmanuel Lucino Garcia was charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and robbery, all felonies, and faces sentencing enhancements for inflicting great bodily injury on the victims and the personal use of a deadly weapon.
Garcia was accused of attempting to steal a scooter and when the victim and his relative tried to get it back the defendant stabbed both of them about 10:45 p.m. Friday at 2916 W. Lincoln Ave., near Beach Boulevard, according to Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Matt Sutter.
The boy remained hospitalized Tuesday, but the other victim has been released from the hospital, Sutter said.
Garcia pleaded guilty in November 2019 to leading police on a chase and car theft, both felonies, according to court records.
