Sprinklers aided firefighters in putting out a blaze Sunday at a commercial building in downtown Los Angeles.
The fire was reported around 5 p.m. Sunday at 1440 South Maple Ave., just north of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway, said Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Crews battled flames at a one-story commercial building with outside fire extending into the structure, Prange said.
The sprinkler system held the fire in check while firefighters extinguished the flames in about 30 minutes, he said.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
