A man was fatally stabbed early Thursday in Long Beach.

Officers were sent to the 3300 block of Long Beach Boulevard, near the San Diego (405) Freeway, about 12:35 a.m., the Long Beach Police Department reported.

“Upon arrival, officers located a male adult victim underneath the 405 Freeway underpass with multiple stab wounds,” according to an LBPD statement.

`Long Beach Fire Department personnel were on already scene, rendering medical aid and attempting life-saving measures,” the police statement said.

The victim died at a hospital, police said. His name was not immediately released.

“Homicide detectives responded to the scene, and the motive and circumstances of the incident remain under investigation,” the police statement said.
