A school bus and two other vehicles were involved in a collision in Rancho Mirage Tuesday, resulting in injuries to six children and an adult.
The collision was reported at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Bob Hope Drive and Ramon Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
A total of six children who were on the bus were taken to hospitals for treatment of minor injuries, fire officials said. An adult from one of the other vehicles was taken to a hospital with “moderate” injuries.
Eastbound Ramon Road was temporarily closed following the collision.
The ages of the students on the bus were not immediately available. A Coachella Valley Unified School District official who went to the crash scene told KESQ there were 17 students on the bus when the crash occurred.
