A pedestrian who was walking outside of a crosswalk was struck by two vehicles and killed in the Vermont Square area of Los Angeles, authorities said Monday.
The crash was reported at 11:45 p.m. Sunday on Western Avenue at 41st Street, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
The first vehicle that struck the woman was northbound on Western Avenue when it struck her, sending the pedestrian to the southbound lanes where another vehicle hit her, the officer said.
The unidentified woman, believed about 25 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
The drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene, he said.
