A 30-year-old man was charged Thursday with killing a man and woman in Brea.
Huanting Gong was charged with two counts of murder with special circumstances of multiple murders, burglary, kidnapping and arson, all felonies. He also faces sentencing enhancements of shooting a gun causing death.
He is accused of killing the victims Oct. 12, according to the criminal complaint.
Brea police began investigating the case when the two victims, whose identities have not been released, were reported missing, police said.
Earlier this month, detectives found evidence in a rural area of the state indicating the two were dead, police said. It was unclear what led police to connect the deaths to Gong.
Gong was arrested Tuesday at a local airport, police said.
