A man was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting following a verbal altercation with another man in the Pico-Union neighborhood, authorities said Saturday.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to 1133 W. 17th St., south of Venice Boulevard, at 11:10 p.m. Friday regarding reports of a shooting and when they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim told officers he had been in an argument with the suspect when the suspect drew a semi-automatic pistol and shot him, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
After shooting the victim, the suspect ran away from the scene. Police searched the area, located the suspect and arrested him. They also recovered a semi-automatic pistol near the shooting scene.
