Authorities Monday planned to appeal for the public’s help to find the hit-and-run motorist involved in the death of a bicyclist in the South Los Angeles area in October.

Oscar Guardado, 42, was injured about 9:55 p.m. Oct. 27 on Normandie Avenue near 23rd Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A Monday morning news conference was planned by detectives at the LAPD South Traffic Division to seek the public’s help in the case.

“The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim in violation of the law,” an LAPD statement said.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call the LAPD South Traffic Division at 323-421-2500 or 323-421-2577. Tips may also be submitted via www.lacrimestoppers.org.
