A Silver Alert has been issued Wednesday for a 79-year-old man who was last seen in Venice.
Eufemio Jauregui Cervantes was last seen near Sixth Avenue and Dewey Street at 5 p.m. p.m. Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Cervantes is Latino, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighs 185 pounds, has brown eyes and is bald. Authorities say he was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and tan pants and he is believed to be traveling on foot.
Anyone who has seen Cervantes or knows of his whereabouts was asked to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled, or cognitively impaired individuals.
