A driver and a passenger suspected of DUI were in custody Sunday after ramming through the gate of Orange County Fire Authority headquarters in Irvine.
About 11:45 p.m. Saturday, a compact vehicle slammed through the front gate of the building on 1 Fire Authority, just east of Eastern Transportation Corridor (SR-261), according to the OCFA.
The two inhabitants of the car fled the scene on foot, a spokesperson for OCFA told City News, but the Irvine Police Department was able to locate and arrest them soon after.
It was unclear how IPD traced the suspects.
No injuries were reported and the crash only damaged the gate and some landscaping.
