An overturned semi-truck trailer is blocking multiple lanes of the Long Beach (710) Freeway in Compton Tuesday morning, spilling an unknown amount of fuel and promoting a miles-long traffic backup.
The accident was reported at 12:21 a.m. on the southbound freeway near the East Alondra Boulevard exit, where the trailer blocked all lanes of the freeway and scattered debris across the freeway, CHP Officer Ramon Kendricks told City News Service.
Reports from the scene indicated a second truck also overturned on the freeway, but the CHP could not confirm that report.
The CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of all lanes of the freeway while a HazMat team was called to the scene and traffic was diverted to Alonda during the cleanup.
