A 60-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking on a Murrieta road, police said Friday.
According to the Murrieta Police Department, the woman was hit shortly before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on Murrieta Hot Springs Road at Calle Del Lago. Debbie Aponte of Murrieta was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures by paramedics.
The driver who struck her was cooperative and remained at the scene, police said.
“The driver did not display any signs or symptoms of impairment,” Murrieta police wrote on social media on Friday.
