A man was found shot to death in the Mission Hills are of the San Fernando Valley and an investigation was underway Saturday.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called to the 10400 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard, between Devonshire and San Jose streets, at 11:07 p.m. Friday regarding an assault with a deadly weapon, authorities said. When they arrived, they found the victim, who police said was 38 years old, lying on the ground near a scooter, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
Police later said a suspect walked up to the victim in the rear parking lot of a retail location, fired a shot at him and fled the scene.
The victim was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, where he was pronounced dead.
