A man reported being shot while walking Saturday morning in Long Beach, authorities said.
Officers dispatched to the 300 block of Long Beach Boulevard, were unable to locate a crime scene, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to a hospital at about 12:10 a.m. Saturday, where the victim had self-transported for treatment for a gunshot wound. He told police he was walking in the 300 block of Long Beach Boulevard when he heard noises that he believed to be gunshots and was struck in the lower body. Officers canvassed that area and were unable to locate a crime scene, police said.
The investigation was ongoing.
