A few acres of brush were burning Tuesday in the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area, but no structures were threatened, authorities said.
Firefighters were sent to the 5600 block of North Woodley Avenue at about 1 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“Four areas of brush are burning, totally an estimated 2.5 acres in the Sepulveda Basin area,” an LAFD statement said. “There are no structures threatened. Additional resources requested to include heavy equipment. Woodley Avenue, northbound from Burbank to Victory (boulevards), will be shut down and drivers are advised to seek alternate routes.”
