A small brush fire in the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area was extinguished Tuesday, with no reported injuries or damage to any structures.
Firefighters were sent to the 5600 block of North Woodley Avenue at about 1 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fire was burning approximately 2.5 acres in the Sepulveda Basin area, officials said. The department requested additional resources, including heavy equipment.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
Woodley Avenue remained closed northbound from Burbank Boulevard to Victory Boulevard until further notice, and commuters were advised to take an alternative route.
Several firefighters remained at the location to ensure all hot spots were doused and to conduct a clean-up operation.
