The identity of a motorcyclist who was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Riverside was made public as the investigation continued Tuesday.

The crash occurred at 5:09 p.m. Sunday in the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Myers Street in the Arlington area, according to Sgt. Emilio Angulo of the Riverside Police Department.

Arriving officers and firefighters found the victim suffering from severe injuries, Angulo said. “The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.”

A coroner’s report released Monday identified the motorcyclist as 28-year-old local resident Jose Ramirez. He had been taken to Riverside Community Hospital, where he died approximately 75 minutes after the initial injury.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation, Angulo said.

Anyone with information about the accident was urged to contact Traffic Detective Jeff Derouin at 951-826-8722 or Jderouin@riversideca.gov.
