A 43-year-old man suspected of arson and murder after eluding law enforcement and fatally injuring a woman in a traffic collision was taken into custody Wednesday after being released from a hospital.

Huntington Beach resident Timothy Bradford Cole was booked into the Orange County Jail Wednesday, according to the Fountain Valley Police Department.

Three women sustained injuries, one fatally, after Cole eluded officers, resulting in a collision in Fountain Valley. The victim who did not survive the collision was identified as Hong Ngoc Nguyen, a foreign exchange student from Vietnam.

The other two women, both Huntington Beach residents, were released from a hospital Wednesday and were listed in serious but stable condition.

“All three victims have been friends since they were in middle school while growing up in Vietnam,” police said in a statement.
