A crash on the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway in Pacoima left one person dead, causing a backup on the freeway that lasted for several hours, California Highway Patrol officials said Thursday.
The deadly crash was reported at 7:49 p.m. Wednesday and CHP officials responded to the westbound freeway and Glenoaks Boulevard, where they found the pedestrian in one of the freeway lanes, CHP Sergio Garcia told City News Service.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
The crashed closed all lanes of the westbound freeway for several hours while the CHP investigated the cause of the crash.
