After a structural fire broke out at a house in Palm Desert Friday, the residence partially collapsed.
The blaze was first reported at approximately 11:15 a.m. Friday in the 900 block of Mesa Grande, according to a Riverside County Fire Department statement.
Firefighters arrived at the scene of the single-story dwelling to battle a “well established” fire in the attic.
The department published an update two hours later, noting the fire had been contained, but a partial building collapse had occurred.
Officials promised to remain at the location for an hour on account of “substantial mop-up.”
