The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department announced Friday that it will conduct a DUI checkpoint next week at an undisclosed location within the city of Norco.
The eight-hour checkpoint will be held overnight, starting at 7 p.m. next Friday at a location with notable data patterns of impaired driving-related crashes, according to the department.
Impaired driving includes driving under the influence of alcohol, marijuana and some prescription medication and over-the-counter drugs.
A first-time DUI charge could cost drivers about $13,500 in fines and penalties, according to police. Impaired drivers could also have their license suspended.
