A 49-year-old Lake Forest man was arrested Friday on suspicion of robbing a bank in Foothill Ranch in October.
Edward Eugene Redd was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and robbery for a holdup about noon Oct. 17 at a Chase Bank branch at 26791 Portola Parkway, according to Orange County sheriff’s officials.
The suspect was accused of firing a round near the foot of a teller, but missed, sheriff’s Lt. Frank Gonzalez said in October. The robber made off with about $31,000, Gonzalez said.
Sheriff’s deputies used DNA technology and other leads to connect Redd to the holdup, officials said.
Deputies arrested Redd about 4 a.m. at his home in Lake Forest, officials said.
