A fatal collision between a box truck and a big rig shut Wednesday down a section of the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Long Beach, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash occurred just after 11 a.m. Wednesday near Wardlow Road, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.
At least one person was killed, the CHP said.
CalTrans closed the freeway around 1:30 p.m. for an unspecified period due to the collision.
Details on what led to the crash were not immediately available.
