A man allegedly armed with a knife was arrested Thursday after a failed burglary attempt while the residents were home, prompting a lengthy standoff with police, authorities said.
Officers responded around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday to reports of a home invasion at 3140 Hollyridge Drive in Hollywood Hills, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The suspect was described between 35 to 50 years old, according to media reports.
The man refused officers demands to cooperate, which resulted in his arrest and a standoff with SWAT teams that lasted until at least 2:20 a.m., KTLA reported.
No injuries were immediately reported, and the man’s name was not readily available.
A connection, if any, between the victims and the suspect was unclear.
