A man suspected of swinging a knife at a man exercising with his daughter along the La Ballona Creek bicycle path in Culver City Friday was arrested.
Officers responded near the intersection of Ocean Drive and Westwood Boulevard shortly after 9:25 a.m. Friday, according to the Culver City Police Department.
“The victim nor his daughter were injured during this incident, and they fled from the attacker,” police said in a statement.
The suspect was located and arrested in the Culver City Middle School parking lot, with no students present due to winter break. He was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon at the Culver City Jail.
The motive for the attack remains under investigation.
The knife allegedly used during the attack was discarded by the suspect but later recovered by officers.
The suspect’s name was not released.
