An arson investigation is underway after one person was injured in a residential fire in Hyde Park Sunday.

The fire was reported around 1:50 p.m. Sunday at 3335 W. Hyde Park Blvd., at the intersection with Crenshaw Boulevard near the Van Ness area, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The small fire burned one unit on the top floor of a three-story building, and was knocked down in under 15 minutes, authorities added.

One patient was being assessed for injuries, and the LAFD’s arson unit was requested for an investigation, Stewart said.

Further details on the condition of the patient were unavailable.
