A 61-year-old man who was struck and killed in a hit-and-run collision while riding a scooter in South Los Angeles was identified Tuesday.
The crash occurred about 1 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of East Manchester Avenue, just east of Main Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Division.
A westbound vehicle on Manchester struck the scooter, which was heading the same direction, police said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was later identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Gregory Vaughn Simpson. His city of residence was not provided.
A vehicle description was not immediately available.
