A man who had been shot to death and found by police in a wash in North Hollywood was publicly identified Tuesday.

He was 35-year-old William Pineda, according to the Medical Examiner’s office. An autopsy confirmed Pineda was a homicide victim, shot in the head. His city of residence was not provided.

Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Division responded at approximately 9:30 a.m. Monday to the 11400 block of Magnolia Boulevard, near Tujunga Avenue, regarding a death investigation, the LAPD said in a statement.

When they arrived at the location, they found the victim now identified as Pineda in the wash suffering from a gunshot wound. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics were called to the scene and pronounced the victim dead, police said.

No suspects were identified.
