A 35-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting two of his relatives in Altadena has been taken into custody, authorities announced Thursday.
Deputies responded to the 700 block of West Sacramento Street on Dec. 20 around 8 p.m. for a welfare check and found a man and woman with gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Beverly and Wendell Harmon were allegedly shot by their nephew, whom investigators later identified as Melvin Johnson. He was taken into custody on Tuesday, booked on suspicion of murder and held without bail.
A possible motive was unknown.
