A man was hospitalized in critical condition Saturday after being shot while sitting in an SUV in Maywood.
The shooting occurred about 2:40 p.m. Saturday at Alamo and Slauson avenues, Sgt. M. Pacheco of the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Station told City News Service.
The man was sitting in a brown Jeep at Riverfront Park when two males approached, shot him and ran east through the park toward the Los Angeles River, Pacheco said. There was no further description of the suspects.
The victim was taken to a hospital and listed in critical condition.
The shooting was possibly gang-related, he said.
